291000 public schools Teachers in the pre-tertiary School level are expected to register on Ghana’s Teachers portal for National Teaching Council Registration and licensing of Teachers. This figure was disclosed at Ghana Radio by the director of Licensing at the National Teaching Council Mr. Francis Addae.
He added that this figure is only for the public sector but the private sector is more than 55,000 Teachers who are expected to register their details on the NTC Teachers portal for mass Issuance of licenses.
The Director of Licensing at the National Teaching Council (NTC) encourages every teacher to get the licenses because it is very important as a teacher in Ghana to have a license and after this Issuance of licenses if you don’t have a license you can’t practice as a teacher.
He accepted the fact that due to the large number of Teachers that will be visiting the website to key in their details there will be delays but every teacher should keep on trying to provide their details on the portal.
Yesterday one of the major teacher unions in Ghana, the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) wrote a statement recommending every teacher to take the National Teaching Council NTC license exercise seriously by providing their details at the portal.
Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum who was the guest of Honour at the launch of the National Teaching Council (NTC) licenses of Teachers occasion made it clear that the NTC Licensing of Teachers is not to disadvantage any teacher but to ensure the professionalism of the teaching profession.
So no teacher should be left out in this Licensing of Teachers in Ghana.
