3 GES new updates for public Basic schools Reopening. Take note

As public Basic schools in the country resume School for their third term of the 2021 academic year, the management of the Ghana Education Service has provided Teachers with new updates concerning primary schools reopening.

According to the management of the Ghana Education Service Teachers and their Headteachers must take full compliance with the following directives.

Instructional hours
According to the management of the Ghana Education Service, all public Basic schools from kindergarten (KG) to Primary School must have to begin Classes from 8:00 am to 3:00 Pm. Management explained that kindergarten KG was closing at noon due to the outbreak of the pandemic but now all public Basic schools must close at 3:00 pm.

Standardized Test.
Management of the Ghana Education Service has indicated that all basic four classes across the country shall write their first-ever standardized test in November 2021. This was earlier disclosed by the minister of Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum. Teachers are been reminded to take notes. The National Standardized Test will be in Literacy and Numeracy.

BECE Schools Selection
According to GES, the 2021 batch of BECE will select six schools instead of the previous five schools in the selection phase ahead of the 2021 BECE that will be written in November 2021. All Headteachers and students should take note.
