By | February 5, 2022

All the 46 public colleges of Education are required to conduct an entrance Examination for interested Applicants who wish to train as teachers in Ghana. The National Teaching Council (NTC) disclosed this in a meeting organized in February 2022.

The Minister of Education Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum in collaboration with the National Teaching Council (NTC) has disclosed that all Colleges of education are to conduct selection tests at the time of admission for Applicants who want to be trained as teachers. This will help admit students who deem fit to train as teachers.

According to the Ministry of Education and the National Teaching Council NTC, to eliminate the massive failure of literacy and numeracy after students graduate from Colleges of education, applicants should pass this exam before they are admitted into the Colleges.

This means that students after graduating from the Colleges of education will not have the problem of writing numeracy and literacy for a license.

NTC explained that the computer-Base -Test is adopted to help students interact with the computer and also to reduce the level of cheating among students during the test.

Apart from the selection test, the management of the National Teaching Council NTC intends to introduce proficiency and level-based-test, this will help eliminate alignment problems between the national Teaching Council and the Colleges of Education curricula.
