A group calling it concerns Teachers have threatened demonstration against the three teacher unions GNAT, NAGRAT, and CCTGH over failure on the part of the leaders to address the concern of their members.

According to the group Teachers in Ghana have been cheated for too long while their union leaders are not addressing their problems but rather concentrating on deducting union members’ dues which they use to share among them as allowance.

The group said what leaders of Ghana Association of Teachers GNAT, National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT), and Coalition of Concern Teachers Ghana (CCTGH) know is when there are small increments then they are quick to increase their union dues.

The group has cited three occasions where the three Teacher unions GNAT, NAGRAT, and CCTGH jointly gave the government an Ultimatum to upgrade Teachers who have qualified for almost four to five years now but have not been put on the rightful salary scale. The Ultimatum has elapsed but nothing has been said about that Ultimatum from the teacher unions.

Base on this and many more challenges that Teachers faces such as delay in promotion, delay in upgrading, no responsibility allowance which their unions leaders have tend a blind eye towards their problems. Then the group decide to organize a peaceful demonstration against their unions leaders.
