Education Minister presented five digital piano to five basic schools in the Central Region

The Minister for Education, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, paid a surprise working visit to some Senior High Schools in the Central Region today, Friday 23rd April, 2021.

The objective of the visit was to monitor the adherence of the protocols, implementation of the Free SHS Policy and teaching and learning.

The Minister was impressed with the activities in the schools and commended the Directorate for the good work.

The Minister also presented five (5) Digital Pianos to five basic schools to help in their creative arts lessons which includes music and cultural activities. Some schools already took delivery of the Pianos in April, 2019.

The digital pianos were donated to the Ministry of Education for onward distribution to Schools by a South Korean Company called Bouyoung Company Limited.

The schools included the following;
Cape Coast

  1. St. Augustine’s Practice
  2. St. Monica’s JHS
  3. Okyeso Catholic Basic

Abura-Asebu-Kwamankesse

  1. Baiden Walker JHS

Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem

  1. Elmina Methodist JHS

This gesture was to augment the teaching of music in basic schools.
The Regional Director of Education, Martha Owusu Agyeman (Mrs), expressed appreciation and assured the Minister that the devices will be put to good use.
