The National General Secretary of the Coalition of Concern Teachers Ghana (CCTGH) has disclosed that even if the Government side grants them 19.9% of the Cost of Living Allowance they will reject it.
Speaking on UTV yesterday, the National General Secretary of CCTGH said last year the National security has to provide security for some of the leaders of the teacher unions and their families for negotiating 4% salary increments.
“This time around we are very cautious in the steps we are taking. The threat we have been receiving from some of our colleagues is too much so even if the government gives us 19.9% we will reject it” he said
He further noted that in order not to put their lives and that of their families in danger then there is the need to fight for what is right for the teachers.
The government side the various unions in the public sector will be meeting tomorrow 12th July 2022 to negotiate the Cost of Living Allowance for workers.
