The Director-General of the Ghana Education Service has donated a cash price of GH¢30,000 to the District Education Directorate as a fund to support teachers in the delivery of their service in the classroom.
As part of the birthday celebration of Prof Opoku Amankwa, the GES Boss marks his birthday with donations to Birim South District Education Directorate.
The Director-General of Ghana Education Service, Professor Kwasi Opoku Amankwa on Wednesday donated textbooks and other learning materials worth 50,000 Ghana cedis to schools in the Birim South District as part of activities to celebrate his birthday.
Apart from the books, Prof Amankwa also donated a cash price of 30,000 Ghana cedis to the District Education Directorate as a seed fund to support teachers.
The Director-General of Ghana Education Service, prof Opoku Amankwa has also pledged to give 10% of his salary every month to support the needy in the District.
The gesture, according to Prof Opoku Amankwa, was aimed at supporting the government to provide quality education to residents of Birim South where he comes from.
