GES to recruit graduate teachers next year- Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum

The Honourable Minister of Education Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum has disclosed that the management of the Ghana Education Service will from next year start to recruit graduate teachers into the Service.

According to the minister, graduates completing public universities who are studying Education programs will be recruited by the Ghana Education Service next year.

Speaking on Wontumi TV, the Education Minister tried to explain the concern raised by concerned Ghanaians and most graduates from the public universities concerning the financial clearance that has been given to the Ghana Education Service to recruit over 16,000 newly trained teachers from public colleges of Education.

Most graduates including Educate Ghana NABCO Trainees’ have complained about the fact financial clearance is not given to Ghana Education Service to recruit graduates into the Service.

But the minister explained that starting from next year January to February 2022 the Ghana Education Service will start to recruit graduate teachers from public universities who have offered Education programs.

The Minister added that since the College of education from next year will be producing graduate teachers, there will no more be traditional posting of newly trained teachers but the recruitment of graduate teachers into the Service. He said the ministry is looking at how best they can recruit NABCO Trainees under the educate Ghana model.

He also added that the ministry is looking at how best to recruit teachers from the Jackson College of education since it is approved by the Ghana Education Service to train teachers.
