The Management of the Salaries and Conditions of Service at GNAT has officially asked the Controller and Accountant General Department to refund all incremental dues that have been deducted from members of the Ghana National Association of Teachers GNAT.

According to GNAT, their attention has been drawn to the above deductions from some of their members between January 2021 and June 2022.

The General Secretary of Salaries and Conditions Service at GNAT Mr. Isaac Baah said their checks from the Controller and Accountants General’s Department indicate that this was because of the 2021 increment of the 4% base pay.

It must be placed on record that the dues are increased automatically upon a written letter to the Controller and Accountant General’s Department. However, in 2021 GNAT did not write to the Controller and Accountants General’s Department to increase the GNAT dues.

GNAT, therefore, urges the outfit of the Controller and Accountant General Department to reverse these dues arrears in 2021 with immediate effect and credit the same to all the affected members of GNAT.
