Schools under trees are one of the challenges that most Basic school in Ghana is facing which make some students attend their lessons outside the classroom environment. This is serious to the extent that some teachers and students risk their lives to attend their classes under dilapidated classrooms.
The students of Ango primary school in Chereponi in the North East region have attended their classes under mud classroom since the inception of the school. Teachers and students in Ango primary school have cried to authority for a long time and this has been affecting their classes mostly in the rainy season.
Luckily on the part of traditional leaders, people, students, and teachers of the Ango community, the Ghana National petroleum corporation (GNPC) Foundation came to the aid of the teachers and students of Ango primary school in Chereponi and build a 6 unit classroom block for them to help these pupils and their teachers attend classes in a proper classroom.
The technical team handover the 6 unit classroom block to the Ango primary school teachers yesterday.
The teachers and their students were so happy for Ghana National petroleum corporation foundation for coming to their aid, teachers and their students were encouraged by the technical team of the foundation to ensure the maintenance culture of the facility to ensure that it is in good shape and be used for its purpose for a long time.
The classroom is fitted with an ancillary facility to facilitate teaching and learning among the students and teachers in the school.
