Good news for teachers. I will champion teachers’ welfare- Dr. Yaw Adutwum.

Teachers have been crying since about their condition of service with little been said about it, they complained of little pay with the past government not listening to their complaints. Now teachers are anticipating and pertinently waiting for their Savior Dr. Yaw Adutwum who is one of their own and currently a minister-designate for education in Ghana.

During the vetting of the minister-designate for education Dr. Yaw Adutwum in the parliament house, he was asked by one of the honorable members of parliament about the housing unit government promised to build for teachers in 2017 to help facilitate the quality of education and also motivate teachers.

The honorable member reminded him about the government in 2017 talking about consulting the various teacher unions, social security and national insurance trust (SSNIT), and other agencies to build affordable housing for teachers in the various locality to enable teachers to stay and teach in their respective areas. So he was asked how many they have built for teachers.

The honorable nominee Dr. Yaw Adutwum responded that he thanks the honorable member for reminding him of what they said they will do in 2017 and added that he cares about teachers’ welfare and that if given the office he will ensure that he works hard to motivate teachers.

He also said that teachers should look at him as a commander in chief of teachers and he has been championing for the improvement of teachers welfare in the country so if given the office teachers welfare and motivation will be prioritized.
