The Internal Audit Agency has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding MOU with the management of the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission to monitor payroll and other compensation benefits for an approved wage structure.
This was signed on the 3rd of August 2022 at Accra to ensure quick implementation of the research findings to meet the desired target.
According to the MOU, staff of the IAA will be trained to hold duty bearers accountable and also ensure that nonexisting staff (Ghost names) are off from the payroll
The Board Chairman of IAA, Joseph Winful said the agreement will ensure that wages and salaries of public sector workers commensurate with productivity
“Let us not sit back and wait for instructions from political leaders; let us be brave enough to ensure that at least there is five to 10 percent improvement in our wage structure,” he added
