Abetifi Presbyterian College of Education, Abetifi-Kwahu invites applications from qualified persons to fill the following vacancies in the College.
A. ACADEMIC STAFF
i.EDUCATION STUDIES TUTOR
ii.MATHEMATICS TUTOR
iii. ENGLISH LANGUAGE TUTOR
iv. GHANAIAN LANGUAGE TUTOR
The appointment to the position of Tutor shall be for a term of Five (5) years and may be renewed for a second term upon satisfactory performance. A Tutor’s appointment may be renewed up to a maximum of three terms, that is, a total of Fifteen (15) years upon which the appointment may be terminated unless the applicant qualifies for promotion to Senior Tutor position.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Tutor shall perform the following functions:
a.Teach courses in the relevant subject area. b.Setting and marking of assignments and examination questions.
c.Invigilation of examinations.
d.Supervision of students’ projects.
e.Research and Publication.
f.Assisting in the administration of the Department.
g.Supervision of students’ internships. h.Extension work/service to the College and the nation.
i.Any other related duties assigned by the Principal or his/her representative. QUALIFICATION The applicant must:
Hold a good First Degree and a Masters’ Degree (MPhil) in the relevant subject area. Both Degrees must be in the same subject area. Have an impeccable record of service. Possess proven leadership skills and be a team player.
B.NON ACADEMIC STAFF
i.
ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT
DUTIES
An Accounting Assistant performs various accounting duties which include:
Preparation of statements of accounts.
Checking and verification of current accounts.
Preparation of Bank Reconciliation Statements.
Attending to correspondence.
Supervision of the work of lower grades.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
The Applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree (Accounting option) awarded by a recognized
higher institution of learning.
He/She must have served as a Senior Accounts Clerk in a College of Education or a
comparable grade in a similar institution/organization for at least four (4) years.
Must be computer literate and be familiar with the relevant accounting software.
ii.
STORES ASSISTANT
DUTIES
A Stores Assistant will be responsible for:
Ordering, keeping and maintenance of stocks.
Stock-taking preparation of estimates.
General correspondence.
Short-landings and insurance claims.
Expeditious handling of all cases of loss and damages.
Application and interpretation of stores regulations and instruction.
Supervision of subordinate staff.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree (Supply Chain Management/ Purchasing and
Supply) or its equivalent.
He/she must have served as a Stores Assistant in a College of Education or comparable grade
in a similar institution/organization for at least four (4) years.
Must demonstrate high sense of responsibility and integrity.
Must be computer literate and be familiar with relevant stores software.
iii. LIBRARY ASSISTANT
DUTIES
The Library Assistant shall perform various professional library duties including:
Cataloguing
Supervising a section of the College Library
Training of subordinate staff
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Library/Archives Administration or equivalent
qualification.
Must be computer literate and be familiar with some library software.
iv. SECURITY GUARD
DUTIES
The Guard will be responsible for safe-guarding life and property on campus.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
The candidate must possess five GCE ‘O’ Level credits or six WASSCE or SSCE passes
including English Language.
Candidate must be physically fit and not below 20 years and above 35 years of age.
Experience in Security work will be an added advantage
