Just in. Study leave teachers to be promoted to their respective ranks- Dr. Yaw Adutwum

Teachers have complained about going for study leave to further your course and after completion, you will be denied promotion to your respective ranks meanwhile your colleagues whom you have completed with them in the same year in the college though they have not furthered their courses, they have been promoted to their rightful ranks.

Those who completed their study leave in 2019 are still not yet promoted to their appropriate ranks. Some teachers are worried about completing their courses two years and they are still not been promoted or upgraded to their rightful ranks.

When the Education Minister-designate Honorable Dr. Yaw Adutwum was asked during his vetting by honorable Alhassan Suhuyini about the fact that teachers who have gone for study leave or further studies are not yet been upgraded, the minister responded that the Ghana Education Service has been doing well in terms of promoting of teachers

He stated that if he’s given the office of the Education Minister he will ensure that those bottles neck surrounding the upgrading and promotion of teachers will be removed to make teachers satisfied and deliver their lesson successfully.

When honorable Haruna Iddrisu the Tamale south mp did a follow about the promotion of teachers who have gone through further studies and their back into the system whether the minister-designate knows that for two years now some of them have not yet been upgraded.

The minister-designate said he is not aware that those teachers have not been upgraded yet and promise that if he is given the office he will ensure that those teachers are duly upgraded.
