The National Association of Graduate Teachers NAGRAT has joined the call for the complete overhaul of the pay system of article 71 Office holders and the single spine salary structure
According to NAGRAT this will create a fair pay policy system in the public sector and reduce the level of public spending on salaries and emoluments.
Speaking to Citi TV on the issue, the president of NAGRAT Mr. Angel Carbonu explained that the continuous implementation of pay administration of the Article 71 Office holders is the major cause of Labour agitation in the country.
“It is a constitutional matter and once it is, the President must set up a committee to come up with recommendations. Once the recommendations have been made, there will be ways for implementation, and it will be reviewed from the terms of referenceā, says Earl Ankrah, the Head of Communication of the commission.
Meanwhile, the Secretary General of TUC said, the Trade union Congress Dr. Yaw Baah explained that the TUC and other Organized Labour Unions are on course to end the unfair remuneration of single spine salary structure on one hand and article 71 Office holders on the other hand.
