The president of the National Association of Graduate Teachers NAGRAT Mr. Angel Carbonic has officially congratulated the Regional Reps on successful press conferences held in all the Ten NAGRAT Regions of Ghana. As you were informed at the NEC meeting, the Unions in Education will be holding a joint press conference on the 5th of July to declare a nationwide strike. Some work will have to begin before the declaration, i.e,
District Reps must have one to one contact with School reps to prepare them on how to close down their schools upon declaration.
Prepare a routine visit with your Regional Officers to a number of Schools upon declaration.
All Regional officers should meet on Monday to prepare the strategy for movement. There is no excuse for any Regional Officer.
Inform all heads of institutions and Schools that they will become enemies of the unions if in any event they attempt to obstruct the strike in any form or shape.
Between today and the 5th, Regional Chairmen and Officers should get into the various platforms in the Region and sensitise them about the strike please no one should renege on this.
The leadership of GNAT, NAGRAT and CCTGH, last month issued a treat to the government to either make payments for the Cost Of Living Allowance COLA before the end of 30th June 2022. But June 2022 validation voucher shows otherwise. Majority of Teachers are happily waiting for the declaration of the 5th July 2022 strike.
