New guidelines for approval for sandwich, distance & evening course – GES

Management of the Ghana Education Service has noticed that despite the new directive, approval for further studies through sandwich, distance, evening, and weekend courses are still forwarded to the headquarters.

Management is therefore emphasizing the new guidelines for approving further studies to GES staff who wants to pursue further studies that were issued on 6th September 2022.

Management has reiterated that the new guidelines became effective on the 7th of September 2021.

The new guidelines are as follows:
Step1. An applicant will have to apply through the district/Municipal/metro directors of Education to the Regional Director.

Step2. The Regional Director will then compile details of qualified applicants to the headquarters in a template

Step3. After the Director General’s approval, the Regional Director then issues an approval letter to complete the process.

According to the management of the Ghana Education Service, the programs should be an approved courses as stated in the approved subject areas for study leave with pay.
