NIA to resume provision of their services on 15th March 2021.

The management of the National identification Authority wishes to inform the general public that they will be resuming work on the 15th of March 2021, the public is hereby informed to take notice that the NIA will be in their centers on Monday.

“Members of the Public are kindly informed that the National Identification

Authority will resume on Monday, 15th March 2021.” Management stated

The National Identification Authority will resume provision of the following registration services effective
Monday, 15th March 2021;

a.Premium registration

b.Update of personal records

c.Replacement of cards

d.Collection of cards and

e.Issuance of Non-Citizen Ghana Card

The president in his state of the Nation Address stated that “Mr. Speaker, for the first time, we have enrolled 15.5 million
people onto the National ID card system (the Ghanacard),
and we will complete the process this year. From 1st April,
and this is not an April Fool’s prank, all National ID numbers
will become Tax Identification Numbers. In so doing, the
number of people registered by GRA for tax purposes will
increase from the current three million (3 million) to 15.5
million.”

He added that, Similarly, from the 2nd Quarter of this year, all National ID

numbers will also become SSNIT numbers. This will increase
the number of people on the SSNIT database from four
million (4 million) to 15.5 million! The National ID numbers
will also become NHIS numbers. Very soon we will link the
National ID to all SIM cards, bank accounts, Births and
Deaths Registry, DVLA, and passports
