Not more than 50% of the Capitation grant should be used to conduct 3rd term Examination – GES

The management of the Ghana Education Service has officially written to notify metropolitan/municipal/district Director of education about the payment of the Capitation grant to basic schools.

According to the management of the Ghana Education Service, less than 50% of the Capitation grant amount should be used to conduct the 2022 third-term Examination for the pupils.

“Metro/municipal/District offices are to use not more than fifty percent (50%) of the amount in conducting the end-of-year examination for schools.” The letter stated.

Management however has officially notified all metro/municipal/district Director of Education to release the remaining amount of the Capitation grant amount to heads of public basic schools to enable them to run the schools effectively.

This is contained in a letter signed by the Acting Director General of Ghana Education Service Dr. Eric Nkansah.
