The Management of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) has directed Ghana Education Service Directors of Education to stay away from imposing National Teaching Council (NTC) workshops on teachers for fees.
Most GES District Directors of Education after the launching of the licensing of teachers have now adopted a new strategy of forcing teachers to attend any workshop for Continuous professional development points at the cost of the teacher.
Due to this illegal act by some GES District Directors of Education, the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) is warning all District Directors of Education to desist from such practices.
Speaking at GNAT Hour on Saturday 27th August 2022, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of GNAT, indicated that teachers are at liberty to choose from the numerous workshop organized by the National Teaching Council service providers.
This directive by the Ghana National Association of Teachers follows NTC’s earlier warning to teachers about illegal workshops that are organized by Directors of Education at the Cost of the ordinary teacher.
