The Fair Wages and Salaries Commission invited organized Labour Unions to another round table meeting today Tuesday 20th December 2022 to negotiate on the 2023 base pay for all public sector workers.

The information available to our news team indicates that today’s meeting has been called off indefinitely following the failure of the government side to make themselves available for the meeting to take place.

According to the government side, the officers who were supposed to come for the government side to form a quorum have an urgent issue to address in parliament concerning the appropriation of the budget for the 2023 year.

The Deputy minister of finance was not also present. Meanwhile organized Labour Unions still hold their proposal of 58% increments of their salaries in the 2023 year.
