The Honourable Minister of Education Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum has disclosed that Teachers’ responsibility allowance and car maintenance allowance that has been in arrears will work on and paid immediately.
Speaking at Peace FM radio on Monday, 7th February 2022, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum said as a teacher it is always painful when one is due for promotion or allowance while the employer is not paying him or her. This always makes the teacher relax in his or her duties.
Government is always at a loss when employees’ salaries are in arrears this is because when the employee is not happy at the moment the allowance is not paid, productivity is always low meanwhile, in the end, those salaries or allowances will have to be paid to workers.
Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum said his outfit and the management of the Ghana Education Service will work to ensure that teachers’ responsibility allowance and car maintenance allowance that has been in arrears will be worked on and paid immediately.
Some teachers have complained about the delay of management of the Ghana Education Service in working on their responsibility allowance and car maintenance allowance which has been in arrears for some time now.
This statement from the Minister of Education has come has a hope to the Aggrieved teachers whose allowance has been in arrears.
