Special Teachers portal to be set up to deal with Teachers salaries issues-Dr. Yaw Adutwum

By | May 15, 2021

The Honourable Minister of Education Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum yesterday at the launch of the licensing and registration of all teachers in Ghana, disclosed that his ministry in collaboration with the Ghana Education Service (GES) is to set a special Teachers portal where issues related to Teachers promotion, salaries and upgrading will be resolved.

Speaking at the event the Honourable minister recounted that he has been to many media events and he has gotten a call from people complaining that “I’m a teacher and my promotion has not been effected,” “I’m a teacher and have salary arrears issues”, and in all those occasions he stated that he becomes so concerned.

He explained further that he becomes so concerned because the teacher whose salaries have been delayed unduly will never be able to perform his function the way he or she should perform it.

Therefore he added that the ministry of education in collaboration with the Ghana Education Service is setting up a special Teachers portal where all those Teachers with complaints will go and Register their concerns and his ministry is going to assign case managers who will take the complaints of these Teachers to the Ghana Education service to ensure that all those challenges of Teachers are reduced if not completely eradicated.

He explained that he will continuously check on the dashboard of the portal to see if truly the case of Teachers is reduced or not.

So the National Teaching Council (NTC) licensing and registration of Teachers is not going to disadvantaged any teacher but ensures that the bottlenecks in the teaching profession are removed completely.
