By | November 23, 2022

The management of the National Teaching Council (NTC) has reiterated its call for teachers to stay away from fee-paying workshops organized in various districts and municipalities by some District Directors of Education.

According to the National Teaching Council, they have come across a circular calling on private school owners and teachers to a mandatory NTC workshop scheduled for Friday, November 25, and Saturday, November 26, 2022, and demanding participants pay an amount of GHC100.

The Council hereby informs all private school owners and teachers in Cape Coast
Metro that NTC has neither approved of the said workshop nor any payment.
Teachers must be cautious in the exercise of their discretion regarding the said
workshop.

This call is been reinforced by the National President of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) Rev Dr. Isaac Owusu who stated that no law in this country binds teachers to attend compulsory fee-paying workshops. Hence teachers should be vigilant and avoid any district Director of education who tried to enforce fee-paying workshops on them.

The National Teaching Council, therefore, called on all teachers to work together to eliminate fraudsters from the system.
