The leadership of the three major teacher unions in the pre-tertiary schools has declared an indefinite strike action in all public basic schools across the country.

The Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT,), and the Coalition of Concern Teachers Ghana (CCTGH) have officially noted that the Government has failed to pay attention to their demand for the removal of the Acting Director General of Ghana Education Service.

At their Friday 4th November 2022 press conference the teacher unions noted that the earlier noted government to remove the Director General of Ghana Education service because the GES boss is not qualified to be a Director General of Ghana Education Service. They explained that Dr. Eric Nkansah, the Acting Director General of Ghana is a Banker and hence not qualified to hold the GES Director General position.

Management of the Three major teacher unions in pre-tertiary schools, therefore, calls all their members in the public basic schools to go on strike effective today Friday, 4th November 2022 since the government has failed to meet their 4th November 2022 deadline.
