The management of the Ghana Education Service in the Tachiman municipal Education directorate has asked all teachers within the municipality to provide their staff IDs and payslip password to the municipal Education directorate.
According to a headmaster (name withheld) in the municipality who explained the reason for the Tachiman Municipal Education directorate, demanding the staff IDs and payslip passwords of the individual teachers to his staff members said the Education directorate in the municipality is taking the staff IDs and payslip password for auditing purposes.
The check has revealed that no public institution will demand the staff IDs and payslip passwords of their staff for auditing. The only required details for purpose of auditing are the staff IDs of employees or current payslips and not their payslip passwords.
This demand by the Tachiman Municipal Education directorate has left the majority of the teachers confused and they feel something fishy about this demand by the Tachiman Municipal Education directorate.
Checks in the municipality has shown that majority of the teachers in the municipality do not know the reason why the municipal Education directorate is demanding for staff IDs of Teachers and their payslip passwords.
Teachers in the Tachiman Municipal Education directorate are calling on the various Teacher unions (GNAT, NAGRAT, and CCTGH) to question the demand for staff IDs and payslip passwords of Teachers in the municipality.
