Teachers’ professional allowance that was introduced last year by the government to enable Teachers to carry out professional learning community and also to attend professional courses to upgrade their skills will be paid this year.
The vice president of the Republic of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia at the launched of the one-teacher one laptop initiative at St Mary’s senior high school, yesterday 3rd September 2021 disclosed that Teachers’ professional allowance will be paid this year.
Dr. Bawumia indicated that in other to improve the teaching skills of teachers, the government in 2020 introduced the professional learning community (PLC) and professional development, and to support the initiative, the Government also introduced Teachers’ professional allowance of which these years allowance will also be paid.
Speaking at the launched Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia indicated that the government has introduced several policies to helps Teachers become competitive with other teachers across the globe. So the one-teacher one laptop initiative has come to help Teachers to be able to move out of their traditional classroom Teaching to incorporate modern methods of teaching.
