The management of the Ghana National Association of Teachers GNAT in the Oti region yesterday reassured teachers who still complained about the delay in the distribution of the one teacher one laptop initiative that was promised to be given to them by the end of February 2022 but the General Secretary of GNAT Thomas Musah stated that management is working on it to ensure that all teachers get the laptops.
Although most district have distributed their laptops to their teachers but majority of teachers are still waiting for their laptops which they have paid for since last year. Most of the teachers have been asking questions about the said laptops which is yet to be given to them.
Management of the Ghana National Association of Teachers GNAT also commented about the hardship teachers are currently going through due to the persistent increase in prices of goods and services. According to GNAT management are engaging major stakeholders to ensure that teachers get the Cost of living Allowance. GNAT explained that this is the only way teachers will be cushioned amid the rapid increase in prices of commodities at the market.
The new leadership of GNAT are in familiarization tour in some regions in the country. According to leadership this tour will help them know the real problems of teachers and know how to plan and implement their policies.
