Teachers will not write lesson notes into notebooks again- Dr. Bawumia

The vice president of the Republic of Ghana, H.E Veep Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has disclosed that Teachers will no more write lesson notes into notebooks again. According to him any country that failed to digitize its economy will have far-reaching consequences.

Speaking at Ashesi University yesterday the 2nd of November 2021, the vice president made it clear that for his government to digitize the economy the Education sector was not neglected. He stated that his government has provided every teacher from kindergarten to senior with one laptop each.

He added that the Laptops has been preloaded with the new curriculum materials of which Teachers will not write lesson note in a notebook again. “We have also provided 35,000 laptops to teachers under the one teacher one laptop initiative. So for teachers writing lesson notes into notebooks is over because the curriculum materials are already installed in the laptops.” Dr. Bawumia indicated.

He further noted that his government is thinking of distributing tablets to senior high school students. According plans are far advanced to ensure that the tablets are preloaded with all the necessary textbooks needed by SHS students.
