A group of Teachers is calling on the Director-General of Ghana Education Service GES to show leadership by example by organizing a press conference to demonstrate to Teachers by using the Teachers Resource Pack to teach the public for them to see.
This comes after the Director-General of Ghana Education Service Prof. Kwasi Opoku Amankwa in the press briefing on 26th August 2021 advise Teachers in the pre-tertiary schools to use their Teachers Resource Pack to teach the new curriculum in the absence of the textbooks.
He explained further that the teacher’s Resource Pack was carefully designed with a lot of teaching materials to serve as a stop-gap measure or reference material while the textbooks were printed.
Most of the teachers who requested textbooks from the Ghana Education Service have blamed the media and their union leaders for not getting a copy of the much talked Teachers Resource Pack to see whether it contained a place for lesson delivery.
It looks as if GES now wants to use the Teachers Resource Pack to replace the textbooks in primary schools after the introduction of the new curriculum. Because most of the teachers do not understand why a new curriculum has been introduced for more than two years now and no single textbook has been provided for them to use.
Because the Director General of the Ghana Education Service continuous to advise Teachers to use the Resources pack to teach, the Teachers are calling on him to organized a press conference with the media to demonstrate by using the Teachers Resource Pack to teach for them to see.
