The president of Ghana H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo on 1st May 2021 during the international worker’s celebration backed the National Tripartite committee that the minimum wage negotiations have officially begun.
He made this statement at the forecourt of the Trade union Congress (TUC) in Accra, when he joined the national labour commission to celebrate the May Day.
The president who use this occasion to celebrate the hard working Ghanaian, stated that no worker was going to lose his or her job as a result of the impact of the pandemic on the economy.
Explaining further, he urge organized Labour to work with government to embrace changes that will be adopted to rebuild and develop the economy.
During this occasion the president made it know that he has taken a decision to freeze the salaries increments of himself, the vice president, ministers, deputy ministers and all his appointees in order to reduce stress on public revenue.
