The Trade union Congress (TUC) has served notice to public sector workers in the country to be ready to withdraw their services in the coming weeks should government fail to grant workers Cost Of Living Allowance COLA.
Dr. Yaw Baah, the Secretary-General of Trade Union Congress (TUC) speaking at a news conference in Kasoa, Central Region said public sector workers will not rescind their decision to strike actions and demonstrations until their demand for COLA is met.
According to Dr. Yaw Baah leaders of various unions are been elected to serve the interest of the workers. All unions have agreed that the condition of service of the Ghanaian worker is not good and hence they are demanding for Cost Of Living Allowance COLA to cushion workers since inflation is now hitting 20 percent plus.
Dr. Yaw Baah further explained that nobody should see their demand for COLA as disturbances because it is something they need to improve the lives of workers and without them, Ghana will be nothing.
An urgent call for action by all govt workers
