UCC reply Ghana web, concerning false publication about the webometric ranking of universities in Ghana.

University of cape coast said their attention has been drawn to a publication on Ghana web https://mobile.ghanaweb.com/GhanaHomePage/NewsArchive/UG-maintains-spot-as-Ghana-s-best-University-UCC-UDS-drop-Report-1173079 claiming that the university of cape coast (Ucc) has dropped in the ranking of public universities in Ghana.

We wish to state it categorically clear that the information given out by the said media is false and misleading. The university said the further wish to make it clear that per the current ranking of universities in Ghana, Ucc is still number 3 according to the webometric ranking of universities in Ghana. The university said the entreat all stakeholders of the university to discard and treat this erroneous and mischievous publication with the contempt it deserves.

The university said they would assure all stakeholders that the university of cape coast remains committed to improving its ranking through increase research output and web presence.
