The unemployed university diploma graduate teachers in their petition congratulated the honorable member for his nomination as the Education Minister-designate and prayed for him to become the substantive minister.
“Honorable the aforementioned association unemployed university diploma graduate teachers (UUDGRAT) humble write to your revered outfit to consider us for recruitment into the Ghana education service as Teaching staff,” the group said.
They said they are graduates with qualified Education with genuine licenses acquired from the National Teaching Council (NTC) and are done with their National service as well.
The said university graduate was recruited into the Ghana education service recently but it was rather unfortunate that priority was given to those who have a bachelor’s degree in education to apply for recruitment to the neglect of their compatriots with a diploma in education.
The association added that just like their colleagues with a degree, also they diploma graduate has been in the house ages after completion and also were expecting to be treated equally but were slapped with disappointment eventually, “this unfortunate development has aggravated our predicament as it has rendered us poor and reduced our standard of living drastically taking into consideration the resources that we spent to educate ourselves this far.” The association said.
They, therefore, appeal to the minister-designate to remember them if God willing he becomes the substantive minister and considers them for recruitment as they are now becoming a laughing stock in the communities.
