The Africa Centre of Excellence in Coastal Resilience (ACECoR), University of Cape Coast has received two vehicles from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the University of Rhode Island’s Sustainable Fisheries Management Project (SFMP). The two vehicles Ford Escape SE and a Ford Everest were donated to facilitate the operations of ACECoR.
Presenting the vehicles, the Chief of Party of the SFMP Project, Dr Raymond Babanawo, explained that the donation was to support ACECoR’s efforts towards ensuring sustainable management of the coastal environment and fisheries resources of Ghana.
Receiving the vehicles, the Director of the ACECoR, Prof. Denis W. Aheto, said the donation was significant and timely in view of the growing demands on the Centre for capacity building, research and other field related activities. He expressed gratitude to USAID and the Coastal Resources Centre of the University of Rhode Island for the commitment to their partnership with ACECoR.
